PGT - Pilipinas Got Talent is a reality television series patterned after the popular “Britain’s Got Talent (BGT)” and “America’s Got Talent” conceived and owned by Simon Cowell’s SYCO company. Similar to other “Got Talent” series, the Philippine version of the talent show will also feature singers, dancers, magicians, comedians and other performers from all ages. Pinoys with amazing performances will be shown in this TV show through ABS-CBN and TFC abroad.

“Pilipinas” is the Filipino word for Philippines. ABS-CBN acquired Got Talent franchise, advertising it as “the first and only nationwide talent reality show in the Philippines,” although other talent shows from other networks are currently airing with a similar format, such as Talentadong Pinoy on TV5. Pilipinas Got Talent will be hosted by actor-host Luis Manzano and international Filipino artist Billy Crawford. The judge will be Ai-ai delas Alas, Freddie Garcia, and Kris Aquino, who was earlier tapped for the hosting gig, backed out from judging at first but she announced at an episode on SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon that she has resumed her judging duties.

PGT hold its first audition at Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas last year 2009 November 6, 7 and 8. Auditions in Cebu on November 11, 12, and 13. In Baguio, the auditions on November 19, 20, 21; Cagayan De Oro on November 25, 26, and 27; Davao on November 30, December 1 and 2; and in Manila on December 5,6,12 and 13.

After six weeks of searching for the best contenders all over the country, the much-awaited reality franchise Pilipinas Got Talent is set to begin this Saturday, February 20 on Primetime Bida. Brace yourselves as it showcases a wide range of world-class acts from the usual singing, dancing, and acting pieces all the way to the bizarre, hilarious and never-before-seen performances.
