Revered society figure, Imelda Cojuanco invited singer Martin Nievera to be part of a benefit concert in Metropolitan Opera in the United States. The proceeds of the concert will go to the Virlanie Foundation Inc. VFI is the largest private non-sectarian child caring institution in Metro Manila, Philippines. Doña Imelda or Meldy is the “mother-in-law” of filipina actress Gretchen Barretto or the mother of her live-in partner, businessman Tony Boy Cojuangco.
Martin is very proud to be chosen for the fund raising concert. “It’s an honor for me performing here and for the great cause that we are making money for not to mention being on the stage with the great opera singers…I think in the world ‘no? and you probably wondering why they choose me” Nievera explained.
“It’s so easy to ask him to help because he knows probably how difficult it is to be homeless” Meldy said.
