Marc Nelson and Rovilson Fernandez said that the race made them more popular, particularly in Southeast Asia after finishing third in The Amazing Race Asia 2. They came behind winners Adrian Yap and Collin Low of Singapore and the team of Pamela and Vanessa Chong of Malaysia. The race started in Singapore, then the teams went to the Philippines, China, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary, South Africa, then back to Singapore for the last pit stop.
“We’d been traveling around and visiting some of the other teams and it’s kinda weird getting recognized in other countries… in Singapore in Malaysia, in Thailand or something like that. So yeah, it’s kinda cool, it’s amazing how many people really watched the race. I mean, there’s some huge fun,” Nelson bared during an interview on Mornings at ANC Thursday. Known for being wacky, cool and funny, the Manila-based team said that the race gave them the opportunity to gain new friends. “We made a lot of wonderful friends… the other teams, the production, crew and everything,“ Nelson said. “It’s just been awesome. We love the fact that, you know, we had a regular demographic we would always cater to, but now we have little girls and boys from six-year-olds to lolas to 80 years old who would go with us in the market ,” Fernandez added.
