Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw is ABS-CBN’s newest tv series top billed by Kris Aquino, Robin Padilla, and Anne Curtis. Child star Xyriel Manabat is also part of the cast. It would hit the primetime bida 9:30PM time slot. The genre of this Philippine teleserye is Family-Drama, Romance, and Action. It’s about two sisters who are polar opposites who are brought together by a big challenge they must both face. Kris will portray the older but responsible sister while Anne is the younger and rebellious one. Robin is cast as the man who will come between them.
The directors of this television series are Malu Sevilla and Joyce Bernal. Kris Aquino and Robin Padilla have done several projects with Director Joyce Bernal. It is Bernal who direct the movie of Robin Padilla and songbird Regine Velasquez on the same title”Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw “which is a blockbuster hit in 2000. One of Velasquez’s hit singles is also entitled, “Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw.” Kris and Bernal are fresh from the Metro Manila Filmfest blockbuster horror movie hit “Segunda Mano” with Dingdong Dantes and Angelica Panganiban.

In a tv interview before the shooting of the said series, Kris said, “I’m so excited kasi Anne and I will represent lahat ng emotions na nararamdaman ng kababaihan when it comes to being in love. Excited ako also kasi we’ll get to see the dynamics kung paano ang relationship ng magkatapid, makikita ninyo how two women will relate to each other.” Kris added that she is also excited and happy to work with Bernal as long with Direk Malu.
