Gabriela Annjane U. Cruz, famously known as Ella Cruz was born on August 17, 1996 in Angat, Bulacan, Philippines, is a Filipina teen actress, a model, product endorser, host, and commercial model. Ella has one brother and two sisters. She is often referred to as “Iela”, especially by her family and relatives despite her popular stage name. Ella has her own foundation, it’s Ella Cruz Foundation for she love helping children, especially the poor and sick children.

Ella is now 15 years old, and at her third year high school at her alma mater, Colegio De Sta. Monica De Angat, a Catholic school in Bulacan where she also attended her grade school.

Career

Often referred to as The Shining Child Star, she was discovered in 2004 when she participated as a contestant in Little Miss Philippines, a pageant for young girls held annually on Eat Bulaga!

Although she failed to win the said contest, she was able to parlay her newfound fame by appearing in several drama series and soap operas like Majika and Atlantika, but it was through her role as Tin-Tin on Super Twins that brought her greater fame among mainstream showbiz audiences. She became an artist of ABS-CBN since 2007 after joining the hit kiddie show Goin Bulilit. In 2010 she returned on GMA Network to do her first time villain role. She is also a host of Tropang Potchi. After the not-so-successful Panday Kids, Ella got a bigger role via TV5′s Inday Wanda as Toni. She also appeared again on MMK last September 11, once again proving that she is among the best young actresses of this generation.

On November 29, 2008, She won her first acting award when the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards or F.A.M.A.S cited her as the Best Child Actress for the movie Resiklo.

Ella became a freelance artist, and went back to the Kapuso network, with her role as Jenny at “Panday Kids as her major comeback role. At 2009, Ella became one of the hosts in QTV 11/GMA 7′s Tropang Potchi and she’s also one of the front-liners in TV5′s Inday Wanda. Apart from the aforementioned shows, Ella also appears at various shows at TV5, GMA7 and ABS-CBN, which is obviously the benefit of being a freelance talent.

After being a freelance artist, and appearing from one TV show, from one network to another, Ella has decided to settle in to only one network. Ella Cruz recently signed up as an exclusive actress in ABS-CBN, which means that you’ll probably see her frequently in ABS-CBN. And early this year, Ella Cruz will sign an exclusive contract with Star Magic as well.

You’ve seen her at Wansapanataym’s “Somewhere Over The Bahaghari” and recently in “Dahil Sa Pagibig” as the teen Jasmin paired with Francis Magundayao.
