Charmaine Clarice Relucio Pempengco, best known mononymously as Charice (a portmanteau of her first two names) is turning 17 this coming May 10, 2009. She will be spending her birthday in the US because she’ll be promoting her first international album. The international Filipina singer who rose to popularity through YouTube is set to appear in “The Oprah Winfrey Show” for the third time to promote the said album. The episode will be aired in the United States on May 18. She will also appear in one of popular shows in Europe late this month.

Charice is enjoying her popularity and wealth now, recently she revealed that she bought a “mini-mansion” in Tagaytay as a birthday present for herself and a Mother’s Day gift to “Mommy Racquel.” Aside from her new Tagaytay home, Charice also bought her dream van — a white Expedition - and a seven-door apartment in Laguna.

Star Records realeased her Mother’s Day album called “My Inspiration.” Its carrier single is “Always You,” an original song.
