The action-adventure James Cameron movie, “Avatar” broke the record set by “Titanic” in just over six weeks. It earned $1.859 billion after Monday’s sales, beating the $1.843 billion haul racked up by “Titanic” in 1997-1998, said Greg Brilliant, spokesman for the News Corp-owned studio. New Moon (also known as The Twilight Saga: New Moon or Twilight 2) is an upcoming romantic-fantasy film scheduled for release on November 20, 2009. It is based on the novel of the same name by Stephenie Meyer and is the sequel to 2008′s Twilight, which is based on the previous novel written by Meyer. Directed by Chris Weitz, the film will star Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner, reprising their roles as Bella Swan, Edward Cullen, and Jacob Black, respectively. Melissa Rosenberg returns as the screenwriter for the film. She handed in a draft of the film script during the opening weekend of Twilight.
