I was one of those who were extremely saddened in the announcement of Bugoy being the 2nd placer. I personally think he’s the epitome of a ‘grand star dreamer’. In my opinion, he deserves the title more than Laarni.
I don’t think he was being bitter when he mentioned that deep in his heart, he was the grand star dreamer. The phrase is very open to interpretation–as to whatever our opinions are of Bugoy. As his fan, and as someone who has religiously watched him on TV, for me, what he wanted to say was that: he believes in his talent, in his capabilities. And considering what Teacher Malou and the other PDA 2 mentors had taught them inside the academy — on how each of them is a star on their own right– i think he was being very honest of what his emotions were that night.
He had come a very long way from the kid who used to sell sampaloc in every classroom of their highschool.
I admire him. And I will always, always be teary-eyed whenever I see his video during the awards night in which he said: “kahit simpleng tao puwedeng mangarap!”
I’m one of those who’ll be supporting his career all the way. Hope everyone who admires and believes in him does too.
